The "Bandana Bros." are no more.
Evan Nelle has, indeed, set out for a homecoming in De La Salle University while at the same time, James Canlas has reiterated his commitment to San Beda University.
According to team manager Jude Roque, the Filipino-Canadian will remain a Red Lion from now until the foreseeable future.
That is nothing but good news for Mendiola which had been rocked with the departure of its court general just days ago.
Canlas posted per game counts of 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists as a sophomore for San Beda last year.
Alongside Nelle and Season MVP Calvin Oftana, he made sure the dynastic squad did not miss a beat even without Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon.
Now, however, the 6-foot-2 guard will be expected to carry a heavier burden as the Red Lions regroup from losing their championship.
He will be flanked by Oftana, promising big men Kemark Carino and Damie Cuntapay, and blue-chip recruits Rhayyan Amsali and Tony Ynot.
